The LIFE Conquer and LIFE 3E projects, both co-funded by the LIFE Programme of the European Union, held a networking meeting last 14th January 2022 to find synergies, exchange information and propose joint actions with the final objective of fostering a more sustainable water resources management.
On the one hand, the goal of LIFE-3E: Environment-Energy-Economy is to develop and demonstrate an innovative process to promote water reclamation and reuse, integrating the production of in-situ renewable energy in Cantabria, Spain. The project aims to promote water reuse for road and street cleaning. In addition, it will minimize the external energy demand for wastewater treatment processes and reduce the Greenhouse Gas Emissions related to the consumption of fossil fuels.
On the other hand, LIFE Conquer aims to promote the circular economy by developing a system to reuse contaminated groundwater infiltrated in residential areas, maintaining the necessary nutrients and eliminating salinity, for irrigation purposes in the city of Murcia.
How will these projects work together? Stay tuned for updates!
